NHOA 2011 Fall Meeting Offers a Varied CE Program and a Great Location!
(Dates are October 8 - 9, 2011)
Continuing the very successful changes premiered several years ago, we will again take all steps possible to make this meeting both informative and affordable. Many members told us that the Seacoast was a great plance to meet, so we will be back in Portsmouth this year, specifically at the Sheraton Harborside Hotel. For those who enjoy making a weekend out of it, we have secured a very nice rate package. Fall foliage, easy access to shopping and other "city" attractions, and the amenities of the hotel itself, make this a great place to spend a weekend!
Another significant change over the last couple of years was compacting the schedule and expanding the hours a bit, we are able to do the regular schedule of CE using only Saturday and Sunday. This will also be an easier schedule for our exhibitors and sponsors, who will only have to plan on Saturday and Sunday instead of all three days.
Thanks to the generous support of our industry friends we will have an exciting CE program this year. See below for the CE and social program as of this date (still subject to change if needed). All Saturday and Sunday courses (13 hours total) are approved as Category 1 CE, and three hours will count towards the glaucoma-specific requirement for those of us who are TPA/g certified.
PLEASE NOTE THAT ON SUNDAY, OCTOBER 2, AT 8 PM, THE WEBSITE WILL CLOSE FOR PRE-REGISTRATIONS. IF YOU WISH TO REGISTER FOR THE MEETING AFTER THAT DATE, YOU MUST DO IT ON-SITE AND TAKE A CHANCE THAT THERE MAY NOT BE ROOM FOR YOU!

The Sheraton Harborside is in downtown Portsmouth, a block from the water and within walking distance of many fine restaurants, pubs, and other fun things to do. Their reservations number is 603-431.2300. When you call to make your room reservations, please be sure to say that you are with the New Hampshire Optometric Association Group in order to get the best rate. The deadline for making your hotel reservations is Tuesday, September 6 - after that date, rooms will likely not be available at the group rate. Call the resort NOW.

You can register online quickly and safely by completing and submitting the information below. You will also have the opportunity to register on paper if that appeals to you more than electronic registration.
The deadline for pre-registration is Sunday, October 2 The Board has authorized a $25 registration fee for this and future meetings which will be WAIVED if you pre-register by the deadline date. After that date, we cannot guarantee you a seat, a meal or a handout. So DO IT NOW!
We contract for meals based on pre-registrations, and must give a final count four business days before the meeting. If you must cancel an advance registration, please contact the NHOA office no later than Monday, October 3 - otherwise we will be obligated to charge you $30 to cover our costs. HANDOUTS: Speaker handouts will be available ONLINE for download about a week before the meeting. You can print them out, or bring your laptop to the meeting (there will be FREE WiFi ACCESS in the meeting room). You will receive an email from NHOA notifying you when the handouts are available for download or printing. Alternatively, you can request a printed handout as we have done before. To offset our rising cost of printing and processing, there will be a charge of $10.00 if you wish us to supply you with a printed handout the day of the meeting.
